The Bucas Sweetitch Rug
Bucas have developed an innovative fabric to shield horses from tiny biting mites addressing the persistent problem of sweet itch. By covering the horse with a full body design that extends to the ears and effectively protects the entire mane area this product offers a proactive approach to prevention before the midge biting season arrives.
The design includes an elasticated detachable belly flap that covers from the elbow to the sheath ensuring complete protection for the horse's entire body. Shoulder darts have been incorporated to promote freedom of movement and a generouslysized tail flap prevents small biting flies from reaching the tail a hugely problematic area for horses. With the added feature of leg straps the cover stays firmly in place during the horse's time in the field.
Comfort is prioritised with an overlapping padded and lined front ensuring the horse's wellbeing no matter how long it needs to wear the cover. Additionally Bucas Sweet Itch provides valuable UV protection preventing sunburn and preserving the horse's coat from bleaching.
